Hello and welcome to Standard Sport’s LIVE coverage of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first press conference as Tottenham head coach.
The Portuguese was appointed as Jose Mourinho’s succesor earlier this summer, after Ryan Mason had overseen the final months of the season as interim head coach.
The Spurs hierachy embarked on a long and at times very public search, with a host of candidates, including Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Gennaro Gattuso and Paulo Fonseca among those in the running before either pulling out or being passed over.
Eventually, Daniel Levy and co. settled on Nuno, who arrives in north London after calling time on a four-year stint with Wolves at the end of last season.
With the start of the new Premier League campaign now only a month away, the 47-year-old has plenty on his plate.
Perhaps the most important topic - and one sure to be discussed extensively - is the future of Harry Kane, who is hoping to leave this summer and has not yet joined up with his new head coach, having gone on his summer break at the end of England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
