Everton new manager odds as Rafa Benitez shortens dramatically and others fade

Rafa Benitez's odds to become the next Everton manager have fallen to as low as 1/16 on.

Everton are continuing their search for a new manager after Carlo Ancelotti's sudden departure.

Ancelotti's exit leaves the Blues looking for their sixth permanent manager in eight years.

Everton have remained tight-lipped on the subject of the Italian's replacement but Benitez is the favourite as talks continue to work on a deal to bring the 61-year-old to the club.

Nuno Espirito Santo had been the initial overwhelming favourite after the ECHO revealed talks had taken place with the club.

However, the former Wolves boss is looking less likely to beat Benitez out for the job after falling to second place with SkyBet placing him at 10/1 and Betfair at 7/2.

Benitez has overtaken him as the firm favourite to succeed Ancelotti with the former Reds boss priced at 1/12 with SkyBet and 1/16 with Betfair Sportsbook.

Roberto Martinez had been in third place but the Belgium manager's odds have now risen to 14/1 with SkyBet, with Graham Potter and Paulo Fonseca both priced 16/1 at the time of writing.

Duncan Ferguson, Christophe Galtier, Lucien Favre, Antonio Conte and Eddie Howe remain in the betting but are clear outsiders.
