Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has named club motto ‘to dare is to do’ as his favourite aspect about Spurs.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss was appointed as Tottenham’s new head coach a matter of weeks ago as he finally became Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor following a laborious process.
He has now been at the helm a matter of weeks, and has earned a real understanding of what life is like in north London and of course his squad.
However, one aspect has certainly stuck with him, and that is the club motto that can regularly be seen adorning banners and stadium hoardings.
When asked what his favourite thing about Spurs was in a video uploaded to Spurs’ official YouTube channel, Espirito Santo said: “To dare is to do.
“To dare is to do keeps repeating in my mind - to dare is to do. I love it. I love the motto. It is what we want to do. We want to try things. To dare to do, to be unique. I love it.”
Spurs have certainly enjoyed a positive start to life under the former FC Porto head coach.
He kicked off his stint in charge with a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient in the club’s pre-season opener, and have since earned back-to-back victories.
Spurs overcame Colchester United 3-0 last week before racking up a 3-1 victory against MK Dons on Wednesday, Dele Alli getting on the scoresheet against his former side.
Tottenham now face back-to-back friendlies against London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in the Mind Series ahead of their season opener against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in mid-August.
