Nuno Espirito Santo makes his stance clear on Harry Kane's Tottenham future amid Man City links

Nuno Espirito Santo has stated that Harry Kane is Tottenham's player amid talk of a summer exit from the club.

Taking his game to the next level last campaign under Jose Mourinho as the goals and assists flowed, the England captain's future has been a major talking point since May following reports that he has asked to depart the club.

Man City have been one of the clubs heavily linked with him but it would more than likely take an offer of around £150million to even start a conversation with chairman Daniel Levy.

With his future set to dominate the headlines ahead of the league opener against Man City and the summer transfer deadline at the end of next month, all Tottenham fans will have their fingers crossed that Kane is still at the club come the start of September.

Speaking at his first press conference at Hotspur Way ahead of Saturday's friendly against Leyton Orient, Espirito Santo made his stance clear on Kane's future in N17.

"Harry is our player, that is period. No need to talk about anything else," said the Portuguese boss. "Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest.

"When Harry comes again we will have time to speak, we have good conversation.

"But like I say, now is the moment for Harry to rest and prepare for what's coming. What's coming I'm looking forward to him joining the group and start working together."

He added: "I'm excited to work with all the players. Of course Harry is a top player, one of the best in the world, but it's best to work with the best players around. Harry is one of those."
