Nuno Espirito Santo: Former Tottenham manager seals Premier League return with Nottingham Forest move

Former Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is back in the Premier League after being appointed head coach of Nottingham Forest.

Nuno has replaced Steve Cooper after he was sacked on Tuesday.

Cooper, who led Forest to the Premier League in 2022, was axed after losing five of his final six games.

Nuno has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground and will take charge of his first match when Forest host Bournemouth on Saturday.

The 49-year-old was sacked by Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad in November after guiding them to the title.

Nuno is back in the English football for the first time since his ill-fated spell with Spurs, where he lasted just four months.

He was hired by Tottenham in the summer of 2021, but sacked that November.

Prior to that, Nuno had enjoyed a successful stint at Wolves and he guided them to promotion to the Premier League.

Nuno spent four seasons at Molineux and is now back in the Midlands after taking the reins at Forest.

He took charge of his first training session on Wednesday morning and will be tasked with steering Forest to safety.

They are currently 17th in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone.
