Nuno Espirito Santo believes Newcastle are similar level to Wolves

After a heavy 4-0 defeat by West Ham at the end of September, Wolves have turned their form around in October, grinding out two 1-0 wins at home to Fulham and then away at Leeds.

They head into Sunday’s game two points ahead of Newcastle United, but boss Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t think there’s much to choose between his team and Steve Bruce’s at this stage.

“It is very early in the competition to establish any kind of difference between teams,” he explained in his pre-match press conference.

“I think every team is improving, every team is taking time and needs time, so as the competition goes by, it will be much harder, because the standards will grow.”

He was also keen to praise Steve Bruce who he has faced four times competitively as a manager, winning once, losing once and drawing twice.

And with the last three Premier League meetings between the clubs ending in 1-1 draws, Nuno is predicting a difficult game.

“Newcastle has a good manager in Steve Bruce, I know him well, and he has quality players, talented players, and it’s going to be a very tough, he added.

“They are a very tough opponent, and all the matches we’ve had against Newcastle were very competitive, very intense, and we expect the same for Sunday.

"Newcastle, are a very good team with very good players.”
