Nuno Espirito Santo asked about becoming favourite to replace Unai Emery at Arsenal

Nuno Espirito Santo has refused to speculate whether he is keen to take the reins at Arsenal as pressure mounts on Unai Emery.

The Gunners have failed to win in their past six fixtures under Emery, and a host of names have been linked with his job in recent weeks.

Wolves boss Santo has recently emerged as a leading candidate to replace the Spaniard, as Arsenal's director of football Raul Sanllehi enjoys a close relationship with Nuno's agent Jorge Mendes.

But Santo has refused to comment on something that is not yet a "reality".

"You know me well enough. You know I'm not going to answer about that and mention an issue that is not a reality," said Santo, when asked to comment on the Arsenal speculation.

"We're doing OK. There is a lot of room to improve as a group as a team. This is what we want to do, all together."

On whether the speculation has affected Wolves' preparation for Braga, he added: "It's not a distraction, at all. There are no distractions at all."

Wolves keeper Rui Patricio was also asked to comment on the situation involving his boss.

He said: "It's extremely important to keep Nuno at the club. We have ambitions here."

Wolves, who are currently second in Group K, take on leaders Braga in Portugal on Thursday. A win will see the Midlands team progress to the knockout stages.

Santo said: "We're going to have 6,000 fans here, and the players will have to perform. I'm sure the match will be challenging for us."
