Nun attacked, Police raid cannabis farms and Best burger winner

These are the latest ECHO headlines this afternoon Friday April 22.

Police have issued a CCTV appeal after a nun was dragged under her car by a thief.

At around 10.05am on April 11, police received a report that a blue Hyundai had been stolen from outside Booker Avenue Post Office on Holmfield Road in Allerton.

Sister Louise Gilbey had parked her car on Holmfield Road and briefly left her vehicle to post a letter. An unknown man then got into the car.

CCTV shows Sr. Louise rushing back to the Hyundai, where she opens the car door and reaches in to tackle the thief. At this point the car reverses, dragging her along the gutter and under the driver's door.

Police raided three cannabis farms yesterday

Officers from Merseyside Police raided three separate cannabis farms and made a number of arrests.

Police uncovered three cannabis farms and made a number of arrests for various crimes during raids in the Bootle area on Thursday, April 21. Officers from Operation Pelican, Merseyside Police's campaign to tackle drug crime in North Liverpool and Sefton, attended a number of properties and found huge cannabis farms.

Officers uncovered two cannabis farms within 10 minutes on Wadham Road in Bootle. A 24-year-old man from the Bootle area was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis after police gained entry and located a cannabis farm across three floors containing around 200 plants.
