In the hours before the NFL officially releases the full 2019 schedule for every team, leaks are common. Some are deliberate, some are authenticated (overseas games as an example), and some are just speculative hooey.
This one seems quite real, however…
According to numerous sources, including brother site Jets Wire, the Browns will visit New York in Week 2 to play the Jets on Monday Night Football.
Earlier this spring, new Browns wideout Odell Beckham Jr. hinted that he’d seen the schedule and dropped onto Jets safety Jamal Adams that they’d see each other Week 1, but that does not appear to be the case.
The Jets opened on Monday Night Football last year. Former Browns interim head coach and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is now running the Jets defense, adding to the intrigue of the matchup between second-year QBs Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.
