Numerous records set in Dolphins’ flop vs. Baltimore

The Miami Dolphins have 15 games remaining on their 2019 regular season schedule. And while something tells us that the Dolphins won’t be getting into the postseason action, it’s going to be difficult for things to get much worse than what happened on Sunday against the Ravens. The Dolphins set multiple records for futility — and helped Baltimore boost their own record books in the process.

Here are some of the records set in Miami’s 59-10 opening day loss to the Baltimore Ravens:

  • The 42 points scored by Baltimore is the most in the 1st half by a team playing Week 1 in NFL history
  • Baltimore’s 42 1st-half points were also the most ever in Raven’s history
  • Ravens QB Lamar Jackson became just the 7th player in NFL history to pass for over 300 yards, log 5 touchdowns and finish the game with a perfect (158.3) quarterback rating
  • Baltimore’s 59 total points is the most in a single game in franchise history
  • The Dolphins’ set new records for points allowed (59) and yards allowed (643) in a single game
  • The 49 point margin of victory for Baltimore is the worst loss the Dolphins have experienced in the regular season

Like we said, it’s going to be difficult for things to get much worse than that. We hope.
