Numerous former Steelers prepare for AAF debut

This weekend, the Alliance of American Football will kick off its inaugural season. The AAF is the latest professional football league to attempt to tap into the massive professional football market the NFL holds a monopoly over. If you needed a reason to check out any of the games, perhaps the number of former Pittsburgh Steelers on rosters, coaching staffs and in front offices will sway you.

Here’s a breakdown of all the former Steelers’ now part of the AAF.

Hines Ward, Executive of Player Relations

This is quite a motley crew of former fan favorites who never really panned out. There are a couple of names on here I will be watching pretty closely.

Linebacker Travis Feeney was a player coming out of Washington I thought had some potential. Safety Jacob Hagen is another player who was on and off of the Steelers’ practice squad but never could stick. Finally, running back Terrell Watson was a guy who played a little for the Steelers in the regular season and it was disappointing when he was released in favor of Fitzgerald Toussaint.
