Number of positive Covid-19 cases linked to Sitel contact tracing centre in Lanarkshire rises by four

The number of positive cases of coronavirus linked to the Sitel contact tracing centre at Eurocentral has risen to 24, up four from yesterday.

Of those confirmed to have Covid-19, 17 are members of staff and a further seven are people who have been in close contact with infected workers.

The four additional cases were included in the total number of new cases for Scotland announced during the First Minister's lunchtime briefing today.

Again there were no deaths reported in the country with the number remaining static at 4193.

Yesterday Nicola Sturgeon revealed that people at The Railway Tavern and Merlins Bar in Motherwell, and Costa Coffee in Carfin who have been in close contact with staff from the Sitel site who tested positive have been advised to isolate as a precaution.
