Number of people hospitalised after street brawl in Limerick housing estate

A violent street brawl in a Limerick housing estate left a number of people in hospital on Tuesday.

A garda investigation into the “public order incident” that took place at Griffith Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, in Limerick City at around 8pm is underway.

The fight involved at least 10 people and several men were injured.

Some participants have been identified but no arrests have been made yet.

Roxboro Road Garda station is following a “definite line of enquiry.”

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating a public order incident at Griffith Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick on May 18 at around 8pm.

"Gardaí attended where approximately 10 people were involved in a fight. A number of these people were taken to hospital as a result.

"No arrests have been made but Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry."
