Number of coronavirus deaths in Nottingham hospitals surpasses 100

More than 100 people have now died from Covid-19 at Nottingham's hospitals.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs both the Queen's Medical Centre and the City Hospital, has issued a statement about the latest fatalities.

The Trust confirmed on Monday, April 13, that a further six patients have died from the coronavirus taking the total number of deaths to 102.

Dr Keith Girling, medical director at Nottingham University Hospitals said: "Sadly we can confirm that a further six patients have died having tested positive for Covid-19.

"Regrettably that means that 102 Covid-19 positive patients we were caring for have sadly died since the beginning of March.

"The patients were aged [between] 38 and 92, and died on April 9 and April 11.

"The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."
