Nudefest 2019: Best pictures as 'Glastonbury Festival of nudist events' starts near Bristol

One of the UK's largest gatherings of naturists is officially underway in Somerset.

Nudefest has returned for its fourth year at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping Park.

This year's event includes a 10K run, yoga lessons, a fishing contest, clay pigeon shooting and a silent disco for the 500 or so nudists in attendance.

The scenic site, around an hour's drive from Bristol, has been completely clothes free from 5pm yesterday (July 8).

With a site consisting of two camping areas and a main hub where the majority of activities take place, organisers say "everyone is encouraged to sit and chat creating a friendly village like atmosphere to encourage the community spirit and help people."

A range of ages are attending this year, from newbies in their late 20s to veterans in their 80s.

It is known as the Glastonbury Festival of nudist events.

Organiser Nigel Pinkstone said: "If you have never been to a naturist event, consider coming along to Nudefest - it's the highlight of the year for many of our guests.

"It's impossible to describe the fun we have and the euphoric feeling that comes with being part of a like-minded community."

You can see some of the best photos from the opening days of this year's Nudefest below.
