But one woman took the 'taps aff' tradition to another level when she stretched out in the scud to enjoy the weekend's scorching temperatures.
Folk in Glasgow's city centre got more than an eyeful when they caught site of a woman lying starkers after forgetting to pull the blinds shut at the Radisson Red hotel.
Twitter user Emma Dodds couldn't believe her eyes when she caught full view of the lady's bare backside - and rushed to share the public display of nudity with her social media followers.
She captioned the snap: "Taking ‘taps aff’ to a whole new level in Glasgow".
No word on whether the woman herself is Glaswegian, but the phrase when in Rome comes to mind.
Let's just be thankful she didn't take her tanning to Kelvingrove park!
