MUMBAI: The Chembur police will be summoning Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh in connection with the FIR registered against him for posting his nude pictures on social media recently.
Officials said that on Friday a police team had gone to the actor's residence in Juhu to serve him a notice for appearing before them. However, he was not at home, and communicated to them that he was out of the city and would be back only on August 16. "So, our team will again visit his residence on August 16 and serve him summons to appear before the Chembur police on August 22,'' deputy commissioner of police (Zone 6) Krishna Upadhaya said.
The Chembur police on Tuesday booked Ranveer Singh under IPC sections 292 for sale of obscene books, 293 for sale of obscene objects to young people, 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and under Section 67 (A) of the Information Technology Act.
