Naked cyclists on tandem bike shock onlookers as they blissfully ride through Scots town

A naked man and woman cycling through a Scots county town on a tandem bike have shocked drivers passing by.

Video footage taken by a stunned motorist shows the nude duo blissfully gliding by the Bridge of Earn in Perthshire on Monday, July 4.

In the clip, the amused onlooker can be heard shouting: "They're in the scud" while blasting their horn as they drive by.

The woman can be seen in the rear seat taking a video of the view as the male sits at the front, taking the helm of the road.

Police were called later that day after a car deliberately struck the cyclists.

The pair had been cycling along the A912 at 2pm when the cruel incident took place.

The couple - named Colin and Sadie - were hit by the vehicle as they reached a 235 milestone into their 837 mile-long charity challenge.

The pair have been cycling the length of the UK from John o' Groats in Cathness to Land's End in Cornwall, England to coin in cash for a cause close to their hearts.

Funds raised will go towards Rewilding Britain, which works at "restoring ecosystems" to a point where nature can maintain itself again, as well as for the mental health charity MIND.

It is unknown if they sustained any injuries.

A statement on their Facebook account reads: "This summer we're riding our bikes, naked. John O Groats to Lands End. Why? Because we want to spread the message Rewild Britain because we think that rewilding is possibly the most important thing for us to do right now to prepare ourselves for the challenges of climate change."

Officers say inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police inquiries are ongoing after a 52-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman who were riding a tandem bike were deliberately driven at and struck by a car on the A912 near to Bridge of Earn around 2pm on Monday."
