Penn State enters Saturday's game against Iowa trying to avoid making the wrong kind of history. If the Nittany Lions can't beat the Hawkeyes, they'll be 0-5 for the first time ever.
Head coach James Franklin knows what his team means to the commonwealth. The seventh-year coach made it plain earlier this week when discussing the importance of garnering a victory.
"We've got to do everything we possibly can to find a way to get a win on Saturday," Franklin said Tuesday. "It will be really important for our program, be really important for — most importantly — our players and coaches and our fans and community. It's going to be a tremendous challenge, but (we're) looking forward to the opportunity."
A team doesn't go 0-4 without a lot of problems, but Penn State does still have talent. Franklin is still the coach who took the Nittany Lions to a Cotton Bowl victory last season. They can get it together if they make some corrections. Let's examine a few ways to do it:
