NTAs 2021: Love Islanders rock red carpet as Jake Cornish snubs bash after editing claims

By Sara-Aisha Kent

The 2021 Love Island stars were out in full force at tonight's NTAs.

The new household names being invited to the bash is something they'd have only dreamed of before their newfound fame on the ITV2 dating show.

And as they stepped out for the biggest night on the showbiz calendar they ensured to bring the glamour as they made their red carpet debuts.

Leading the genetically blessed islanders was Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran.

The smitten pair - who have gone from strength to strength since meeting in the villa - turned heads in classy ensembles.

Chloe caught the eye in a black bustier gown that was embellished with feathers and featured mesh panelling.

The blonde beauty opted for a sophisticated hairstyle by having her locks in a slick low-ponytail.

Toby looked at ease on the red carpet as he stepped out in a black suit which was covered with sparkling stones.

Joining Chloe and Toby were lovebirds Faye Winter and Teddy Soares.

Devon native Faye pulled out all the stops to ensure she turned heads on the carpet.

She wowed in a white slinky dress that featured a sexy backless design and completed her look with a half-updo hairstyle and face of bold make-up.

Teddy cosied up to Faye for snaps and commanded attention in a dapper suit.

Liberty Poole was next on the red carpet and showcased her confident side by strolling along solo.

The bombshell allowed her bright red dress - complete with a cutout detail across her chest - to do the talking.

The former Nandos worker worked the cameras as she posed with one hand on her hip and beamed from ear to ear.

Lucida Strafford stole the show by showcasing her style credentials in a stunning black evening dress.

The gorgeous garment was a one-shoulder style with a cut out detail across the front covered in gold embroidery.

Lucinda added to her look with statement earrings and strode along in black stilettos.

Love Island 2021 winners Liam Reardon and Millie Court also attended the NTAs.

Millie showcased her shape in an emerald dress covered in sequins and looked at home on the red carpet as she snuggled up to her beau Liam.

Tall Liam worked a tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and bow tie and seemed happy to be there with his sweetheart.

However, one of the Love Islanders decided to snub the event.

Jake Cornish decided to decline attending in favour of going to Newcastle to visit his nan.

He shared his plans with his Instagram fans today and him ditching the event comes after he was absent from the Love Island reunion show this week - leaving fans wondering if there is a rift between the cheeky chappy and his fellow castmates.

In addition to failing to appear on the ITV2 show, the tattooed reality TV star has also been missing from many cast gatherings since the dating series wrapped last month.

Earlier this month, a number of Love Island finalists reunited for yet another boozy night out and Jake was nowhere to be seen yet again.

In addition to failing to appear on the ITV2 show, the tattooed reality TV star has also been missing from many cast gatherings since the dating series wrapped last month.

As ex-girlfriend Liberty celebrated her birthday with co-stars on Thursday, Jake didn't attended the star-studded bash which featured plenty of ex-islanders.

Since leaving the villa, the 24-year-old former water engineer from Weston-super-Mare slammed the show's editing.

During a recent Q&A on his Instagram Stories, he invited his 436,000 followers to ask him anything, and he hinted at his disappointment over how the public has perceived him since being in the villa.

One fan asked Jake: "Well unfair the way the public reacted to u on the show. What's your thoughts on it?"

"If people knew what was said which wasn't aired I think people would believe differently," Jake cryptically replied, hinting that he had been edited unfairly during his stint on the ITV2 dating show.

Jake’s apparent gaslighting behaviour towards girlfriend Liberty Poole worried viewers, who were concerned that he was being manipulative and controlling.

Liberty later broke off the relationship after becoming worried that Jake wasn’t fully committed to their romance - amid claims that he was game playing to win the £50,000 prize - and the former couple walked out of the villa just days before the grand final.

Jake also shed more light on his time in the villa, with one asking: “What do you miss the most about leaving the villa?"

However, his vague reply - and without a mention of Liberty - raised eyebrows.

"I miss all the amazing people in there and the sun definitely," Jake wrote.

A few of the star’s followers were concerned about the former Islander's mental health after leaving the villa, and reached out to check if he was okay.

"Got so many amazing things in the pipeline, I can't wait to share it with you all," Jake replied.

"Not a question, but I hope your okay," another follower said during the Q&A.

"So many people have asked this," he said, alongside a love heart emoji.

"I'm good thanks, been unwell for the last week but starting to feel much better today."
