A Northern Territory woman has allegedly fled her home after breaking her partner's leg with a traditional spear thrower during a heated argument.
Police were called to a Palmerston home - 20km south of Darwin - about 7.30pm Saturday after the woman, 48, allegedly struck the man, 69, with a traditional weapon, understood to be a woomera.
The man suffered a broken leg and was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital, and the woman fled the scene before officers arrived, NT police say.
Investigations to locate the woman continue.
Earlier, a 75-year-old woman was arrested after she armed herself with a gun and threatened a group of people in Darwin.
NT police say the woman was camping in her car at the East Arm Boat Ramp - about 10km south of the city's CBD - when she became involved in a verbal dispute with a group of people about 11.30pm on Friday.
Police were called and the woman was taken into custody without incident.
She was taken to the Darwin Watch House and is expected to be charged with firearms-related offences.
A woomera is an Aboriginal wooden spear-throwing device.
It serves as an extension of a spear thrower's arm, enabling a spear to travel at a greater speed and force.
