Three men have been charged following a violent fight in Karama on Sunday. (ABC News: Hamish Harty)

Police have charged a man with attempted murder over a violent incident in the Darwin suburb of Karama at the weekend.

The 46-year-old was charged in relation to a disturbance in Koolinda Crescent on Sunday night that allegedly involved a number of men armed with poles and edged weapons.

Two men were taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other participants allegedly fled the scene in two vehicles.

Police have charged two other men, aged 19 and 20, with acts intended to cause serious harm.

The charges come just one day after Northern Territory Police put out a call for witnesses to come forward.

In a police statement issued on Monday, Detective Senior Sergeant Annette Cooper described the incident as "extremely concerning".

All three men were remanded to appear in the Darwin Local Court today.
