NT man accused of sex with Darwin toddler

A man has allegedly sexually assaulted a toddler in the front yard of the boy's Darwin home. (AAP)

A Northern Territory man has allegedly sexually assaulted a toddler in the front yard of the boy's Darwin home.

The man, 21, allegedly attacked the three-year-old in the northern suburb of Karama on Thursday evening, NT police said.

A passer-by witnessed the incident and came to the child's aid.

Police arrested the man and he was charged on Friday with sexual intercourse without consent.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on Monday.
