NSW prison officer accused of sex offence

A NSW central west prison officer is charged with a sex offence against another officer and assault. (AAP)

A 28-year-old prison officer in NSW's central west has been charged with sex offences against another officer following a 2019 prisoner escort.

Police allege the man attempted to instigate sexual activity with a then-52-year-old female employee while returning from the escort in 2019.

The man has been charged with inciting another to sexually touch them without consent and also common assault.

He has been granted bail to appear at Lithgow Local Court on June 24.

He has been suspended from his Corrective Services NSW job.
