An accused murderer was holding his uncle around the throat from behind with a steak knife pointed directly between his eyes, the NSW Supreme Court has been told.
A video played on the second day of Warren Anthony Scott's murder trial showed Senior Constable Damien Tilley recounting the events at an Eden home in April 2019.
Scott, 38, denies his fatal stabbing of Edward Carter was murder but asked for the incident to be considered manslaughter.
The Crown has rejected this plea.
Sen Const Tilley had been called out to Jessie Scott's home after her son "was going crazy," and had held a knife to her throat before becoming locked inside with her brother.
As the curtains were drawn the police officer was banging on windows and calling out to both men when he heard Scott continuously yelling out out "f*** off pigs go away".
But after asking "where's Eddie?" numerous times he heard a second male voice.
"It was faint, calm, I could tell something was going on in there but couldn't make out what he was saying," he said in the police recording.
While another officer walked away to make a phone call remarking that they may have a "siege here," Sen Const Tilley continued asking if Eddie was OK.
"Two seconds later Warren's done something," he said.
Scott had pulled the living room curtains and for half a second the policeman could see him holding Mr Carter around his neck from behind.
"The other hand is reaching around ... he had a blade and had the tip of the blade right between the eyes.
"The victim looked straight into my eyes, he was perfectly still," he said while Scott appeared "emotionless".
Soon after thuds travelled around inside the home and he heard what sounded like a wrestle and then Mr Carter's voice.
"You stabbed me you c***," he said followed by "go on stab me again c***".
A disjointed sentence followed from Scott sounding like "I'm going to watch you bleed out c***".
After a "gurgling noise," Sen Const Tilley and another officer ripped off the fly screen door and barged inside.
Eventually Scott admitted stabbing Mr Carter "in the legs and chest," and was led out while CPR was performed.
A basic-looking steak knife remained on the coffee table, he said.
Family members have testified that Scott would not take his medication when on a drinking spree.
"When I say when he drinks, I mean he was drinking two weeks straight," Kevin Dixon, a cousin of Ms Scott, told the court on Monday.
Scott's mother said she had seen her son drunk "hundreds of times," but never looking or sounding so "possessed and evil".
The trial continues.
