NSW police on the lookout for prison escapee

Police are on the lookout for Blake Levi, 27, who has escaped from a prison on the NSW north coast.

Levi was last seen at the minimum-security Glen Innes Correctional Centre about 2:45pm on Tuesday.

Guards noticed him missing after 5:00pm and could not find him during the ensuing search of the facility and surrounding grounds.

"Blake Levi is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall with a medium build, and short brown hair," a police spokesperson said.

"It is unknown what he was wearing at the time."

Police warned members of the public not to approach Levi and to instead call triple-0.
