NSW officer who filmed child charged

A NSW police officer has resigned after being charged with filming a child in a bathroom. (AAP)

A former NSW police officer is accused of filming a child in a bathroom without consent.

Last Wednesday officers attached to the Professional Standards Command investigated reports a child had been filmed in the bathroom of a south coast home.

A 47-year-old man, who was a senior constable attached to a command in the Southern Region at the time, was arrested that evening and charged.

He was granted conditional bail and appeared at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday and will appear in the same court on November 4.

He has since resigned from NSW Police.
