NSW mum accused of stabbing son in custody

A Sydney mother accused of stabbing her son did not appear in court when her case was adjourned. (AAP)

A Sydney mother who allegedly stabbed her son in an eastern suburbs home will remain in custody until the new year.

Samantha Palmer, 55, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the domestic violence-related incident.

Palmer allegedly stabbed her son Hugo Ball multiple times after 1.30am last Saturday at a Bellevue Hill house.

The 22-year-old was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition but has since undergone surgery and is stable.

Palmer has been held in custody and did not appear via video link in Sydney's Central Local Court on Wednesday, when her bail review was adjourned until January 20.

Her defence lawyer Nicholas Baltinos told the court it was not required for her to be brought up on the screen as her instructing solicitor was speaking to her separately.

She will be required to appear before the court at her next mention.
