NSW MP's son found not guilty of assaulting police

The son of a New South Wales MP has been found not guilty of assaulting police officers at Bathurst in the state's central west.

Peter Christopher Donato pleaded not guilty after being charged with attacking the officers outside the Oxford Hotel in April 2019.

He is the son of Shooters, Fishers and Farmers member for Orange, Philip Donato.

The alleged assault occurred after Mr Donato and his friends were denied entry to the pub because police believed they were intoxicated.

In the Lithgow Local Court on Friday, all charges were dismissed when he was found was not guilty to the charges relating to resisting arrest, assaulting police and not leaving license premises.
