NSW man charged with stabbing murder

A man has been charged with the stabbing murder of a 49-year-old man in western Sydney last year.

Just before 10.30pm on November 15, emergency services were called to Budgeree Road, Toongabbie and found a man lying on the footpath with multiple stab wounds.

Despite the efforts to emergency services and members of the public he died at the scene.

He has since been formally identified as Warwick Hunter.

Following a public appeal for information, a 29-year-old man was arrested on the Central Coast at Lake Munmorah on Wednesday morning.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with murder, robbery in company and aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence while armed.

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday.

Investigations under Strike Force Burranjurra continue.
