A NSW man has been charged with numerous offences after he allegedly fired shots on the street and barricaded himself inside a dive shop near Wollongong.
Police were called to Windang on Sunday morning following reports of shots being fired.
Police were told a man - who was armed with two firearms - had fired a number of shots at passing cars and pedestrians, before barricading himself inside a nearby dive shop.
The store owner was initially held inside before being released.
Police negotiated with the 40-year-old man who surrendered and was arrested just before 10.30am.
A home at Windang was examined by specialist forensic officers who seized two unsecured firearms, five gel blaster firearms, military knives, six replica handguns, a police uniform, and child abuse material.
The Windang man has been charged with numerous firearm offences, detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage and possession of child abuse material.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Wollongong Local Court on Monday.
