A fugitive bikie associate may be using fraudulent NSW driver licenses to escape the country after he cut off his ankle bracelet and fled interstate.

Police believe Mark Horne posed under two aliases - an unrestricted licence bearing the name Andrew Francis and a provisional licence with the name Luveni Boci - to evade capture.

Detective Superintendent Grant Taylor urged the public to pay attention to any identification cards they came across.

"It is likely Mr Horne will be using fraudulent ID to assist with his escape from Australia," he said.

Hotel and hire car employees, and other accommodation and rental services which Horne may be using to facilitate his escape should remain vigilant, Det Supt Taylor said.

Police say the 32-year-old has left NSW and is elsewhere in Australia after he boarded a private plane from Bankstown Airport in Sydney's southwest and flew to an unknown regional destination on Tuesday.

Detectives believe he was headed for Queensland, and from there would attempt to reach Southeast Asia, possibly by sea.

He was last seen on Friday about 6am at Riverwood in Sydney's south, where he was headed west in a white 2004 Hyundai Getz on the M5 motorway.

Police believe he removed his electronic monitoring device before fleeing.

Horne was awaiting trial over the September 2020 shooting of truck driver Leith Carstairs and the theft of $550,000 in the NSW Blue Mountains.

He is about 185cm tall and of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He also has distinctive tattoos covering both arms and his right leg, as well as faded tattoos on his neck and chin.

Police urged the public not to approach Horne and to call authorities.
