NSW Fair Trading issues warning over unlicensed landscaper in Lake Macquarie

THE state's business watchdog has urged customers not to deal with a landscaper believed to be operating in the Hunter.

NSW Fair Trading on Thursday issued a warning for customers not to deal with Peter Hynes, who it said was unlicensed and believed to be operating in Lake Macquarie.

Commissioner Rose Webb said several complaints had been made against Mr Hynes, who she said was formerly known as Peter Garay and had used the name Todd Hynes.

The complaints are under investigation, Ms webb said.

Consumers have complained about Mr Hynes doorknocking their homes in new housing estates in Teralba, in the Lake Macquarie area, and offering landscaping work that he is not licensed to do, Ms Webb said.
