Penrith Bunnings is among a number of venues in Western Sydney added to the list of exposure sites across the state.

Anyone who attended the hardware store is asked to immediately get tested and isolate until a negative test result is received.

Of greater concern are close contact sites in Merrylands, Auburn and Lakemba with people urged to get tested and isolate for 14 days.

Health authorities today urged residents of Western Sydney to stay "vigilant" after more COVID-19 Delta strain cases are starting to emerge in the region.
