NSW COVID-19: 141 new cases and two deaths, including woman in her 30s

NSW reported 141 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and two deaths, including a woman in her 30s, in the 24 hours to 8 pm on Saturday.

It comes after more than 102,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted in NSW yesterday.

Thirty eight people who tested positive were infectious in the community.

The two deaths included a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 30s.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the second woman had no pre-existing conditions.

"If anybody thinks this is a disease just affecting older people, think again," she said.

"I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to those families and their loved ones. Please note that people without pre-existing conditions can also fall victim to this cruel disease."

She said a combination of restrictions and increased vaccinations were the keys to getting through the health crisis.

"Everybody is welcome to come forward and get the Astrazeneca vaccine. Whether it is through your GP or local pharmacist or a NSW health hub, please come forward and get vaccinated. I can't stress enough how important it is to get vaccinated."

Four Central Coast residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 but pose no identified risk to the community.

The first case was linked to a known case at a construction site in Sydney. The three other cases are household contacts of the first case.

Central Coast Local Health District said all four people have been in self-isolation at home during their infectious period, with health staff undertaking daily wellness checks.

Stockade Meats on Scenic Drive Budgewoi was identified as a COVID-19 exposure site on Sunday.

Anyone who attended the business between 3.40pm and 4pm on Thursday July 22 is a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
