St George Illawarra's hopes of a top-eight finish took a battering after the South Sydney Rabbitohs swooped late to clinch a dramatic 26-24 win.
Tries to Jason Nightingale, Joel Thompson, Kurt Mann and Nene Macdonald looked to have sealed a vital win for the Dragons.
But two tries in four minutes, first to John Sutton then to Bryson Goodwin, levelled the scores as the final siren approached, before Adam Reynolds smoked a sideline conversion to seal a come-from-behind win.
