NRL hands down verdict on Knights' 'bubble breach'

Starford To'a

Knights duo Starford To'a and Simi Sasagi have been cleared of a COVID-19 "bubble breach" and will be available for selection for Sunday's match against Manly.

To'a and Sasagi were investigated by the NRL integrity unit after apparently breaching biosecurity protocols by attending the Newcastle RL match between Western Suburbs and Central Charlestown at Harker Oval on Sunday.

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, the Knights said: "Following investigation by the NRL Integrity Unit, it was determined that the level of COVID risk exposure for both players was negligible".

"This led to a recommendation that the COVID-hold on To'a and Sasagi be lifted. The recommendation was put to Project Apollo and subsequently supported," the statement said.

"As a result both players have been cleared to resume training and will be available for selection going forward."
