Salford coach Richard Marshall says he takes "full responsibility" for his side's performance in the 42-6 defeat to Catalans.
The Red Devils continue to search for a first Super League win of 2021 after a trio of challenging fixtures against back-to-back champions St Helens, Hull FC and the Dragons over in Perpignan.
"We're learning some tough lessons at the moment," said Marshall. "We've played three tough teams and we're the first team to come over to France, but at the same time, I thought we could execute our plan a lot better than that. We were rattled and Catalans blew us away.
"Not at the required standard and nowhere near good enough for this club and for where we're at. That's my responsibility. The performance was nowhere near good enough and I obviously didn't prepare the team in the right direction and I'll be making sure I fix that up this week."
After the swashbuckling 12-try victory over Widnes in the Challenge Cup last weekend, the return to league action continued a similar story from the opening two rounds of the competition - the Red Devils coughing up possession too easily far too often to remain in contention.
"We led to our own downfall, just making far too many mistakes and errors," said Marshall. "We've all got to be responsible for our ball control, but I'll take responsibility for our performance - I thought we were way off, me included. I need to put my hand up there and I'll make sure we're working really hard this week to improve on that performance.
"We've let our supporters down and I take that really personally, it was a poor performance from us."
After an even opening, Catalans capitalised on a Salford knock on 30m from their own line to score the first try of the day through Ben Garcia, before Samisoni Langi crossed on the very next set.
Tui Lolohea forced a series of dropouts with his short-kicking game as the Red Devils looked to establish themselves in the contest, but when Kallum Watkins was penalised in possession, James Maloney's boot took the lead to 14 points and Scott Drinkwater touched down soon after to give the Dragons a 20-0 half-time lead.
Harvey Livett's first try for the club was the only highlight of the second period, as Fouad Yaha scored a hat-trick and former Wigan winger Tom Davies also scored for the home side.
"We need to start games better, with more intent and more energy," said Marshall. "That's nothing to do with the travel.
"We've spoken about our gameplan. We don't want to change it over the next couple of weeks, but we'll have to look at some areas we do need to change. We can't be producing that, it's not of the required standard by a long way.
"I pride myself on defence and there is no positive defensively to come out of that game.
"There are some individuals in there who can hold their heads high, but at the same time, it's a collective team game rugby league, it's a tough game and you need to be up to the task, but we weren't today."
