After running a pilot ferry project from Mumbai to Ratnagiri and Raigad this Diwali, the Mumbai Maritime Board (MMB) has decided to make it a permanent service.
Atul Patne, chief executive officer of MMB, said the ferry service got good response from people when it was operational for a week during Diwali.
“We will invite interested contractors to run the service permanently now,” Patne said. “The services we operated had a limited capacity of 35 passengers each, and we are looking at increasing the capacity too.”
