Liverpool fans have been speculating who was inside the giant rabbit costume after Virgil van Dijk appeared in one of the most surreal images of this Easter Sunday.
The £75million signing, who has been missing from Jurgen Klopp’s side since injuring the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after a challenge from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in Liverpool's 2-2 Merseyside Derby draw at Goodison Park last October, shared the unusual photograph with his 2.4million Twitter followers.
Van Dijk wrote a message of “Happy Easter from me and the big guy!” with an accompanying image of himself stood next to a basket-wielding giant ‘Easter Bunny’ who appeared even larger than the colossal 6ft 4in Dutchman’s frame.
The picture certainly got Kopites talking as they speculated on who might be inside the furry suit.
John O’Sullivan remarked: “Please tell me it’s Joe Gomez in the suit and that’s how seriously you take your partnership.”
Andy Wales declared: “What about if it's Konate? Now there's an announcement video.”
Tesh quipped: “So there’s where Ben Davies has been.....”
Alfiean Solomon asked: “Please tell me that's Big Joel in that bunny suit.”
However, Josh had an even more novel theory, stating: “Everyone saying it’s Nat or Ben Davies as if it isn’t Shaqiri on Mo’s shoulders.”
