Japan's two biggest newspaper publishers, the Asahi Shimbun Company and Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings, have agreed to consolidate their printing as a cost-cutting measure. They will publish copies of each other's papers at various satellite print plants. They are also considering joint distribution and are calling on other publishers to join them.
