Former Leeds United striker Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink has told Tyler Roberts what he must do to help ease the pressure on Patrick Bamford at the club.
The Whites returned to the top of the Championship table on Saturday as they bounced back from a defeat at Cardiff City to register a huge 3-0 victory over Fulham.
Roberts has started both matches back to register his first consecutive starts since November as he looks to ease the goalscoring burden on striker Patrick Bamford, but Hasselbaink believes that Roberts needs to be more influential in the final third.
“He needs to take some pressure off Bamford," he told Sky Sports ahead of the match.
"He’s been injured for a long time and what has happened with the pandemic has helped him get back into the side but he needs to help Bamford with goals and with assists.
“Last week, he tried, it’s coming, I really like him and creatively he’s really good but now is the moment where he needs to produce.”
Next up for Leeds is a Tuesday night clash against Luton Town at Elland Road.
