'Now I’m nervous' - Leeds fans are saying the same thing after West Brom result vs Derby

Leeds face one of the biggest games in their recent history tomorrow night (Thursday) as they aim to take a step closer to Championship promotion at the end of the season.

The Whites host Stoke City as they look to regain their place at the top of the table ahead of the final four league games of the season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men know that a win will take them a step closer to a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Ahead of the game against the Potters, Leeds fans were keeping an eye on another Championship game that was going on, with second-placed West Bromwich Albion taking on Derby at the Hawthorns.

A win for the west midlands team would take them above Leeds for at least 24 hours.

Whites fans were willing on Derby during the match, however, things didn’t quite go to plan for the Rams as Grady Diangana beat the offside trap and put West Brom 1-0 up with just 11 minutes on the clock.

Things got worse for Derby, and Leeds, in the second half when Dara O’Shea scored from a corner with just under 14 minutes to play.

Any hope of a Derby fightback was diminished in stoppage time when Louie Sibley was shown red for the Rams.

The result means that the Baggies have overtaken Leeds at the top of the Championship table, with two points now separating the teams, and just three separating Leeds and third-placed Brentford.

Following the result, fans have taken to social media, but most are in a defiant mood ahead of the match against Stoke.

A win against the Potters would put Leeds back to the top of the table, one point ahead of West Brom.

And perhaps more importantly, it would also take the Whites six points clear of third-placed Brentford, who are making a real challenge for the automatic promotion positions.

In their four matches after Stoke, Leeds face Swansea, Barnsley, Derby, and Charlton.
