Saturday Night Live has released their line-up for hosts in November and all I can say is this: Top Gun: Maverick, you’ll always be famous. With Eternity and The Running Man coming out in November, it is a reunion for Rooster and Hangman in Studio 8H!
The official SNL account posted the news that November will kick off with Miles Teller hosting with Brandi Carlile on November 1. Then, two weeks later, Glen Powell will host SNL with musical guest Olivia Dean. Cool, two musical guests that WILL make me cry with two men whose careers I love! What emotional fun I’m going to have as a fan of Saturday Night Live.
The news makes sense. Teller is in the A24 film Eternity that hits theaters on Thanksgiving weekend and Powell is starring in the remake of The Running Man that releases on November 14. What I love about this news though is that they’re so close together. Both actors starred in the 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick.
Teller played Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw and Powell played Jake “Hangman” Seresin and the rest is kind of cinematic history. While I love my Daggers, I do think it is a testament to that movie how the stars of it continue to be on the rise. Who knew back then that we’d see Hangman and Rooster hosting SNL right after each other for two very different projects?
I’m weirdly proud of them!

These are two grown men with careers but it does make me feel proud of the Dagger squad to see them take on Saturday Night Live. As someone who has watched SNL since I was a kid with my dad, I know how hard it is to stand on that stage. But I also know that both Powell and Teller are funny men who can handle it.
I do have a rule: If an actor I love is on SNL, I will try to go and get tickets and so I guess I’m heading back to Studio 8H this time around but it is exciting to know that the two will take on the iconic sketch comedy show this coming November!
