An issue with a subpoena in the sexual assault case facing former NRL player Jarryd Hayne will be sorted out before he goes to trial in November, with no further delays expected, Newcastle District Court has heard.
The matter was briefly mentioned before Judge Tim Gartelmann on Thursday morning, with the former NSW Blues star previously excused from personally appearing.
Judge Gartelmann adjourned the matter to a call-over date of November 19, when the subpoena is expected to be served.
The court heard the trial remained scheduled to begin the following Monday, on November 23.
Hayne, 32, is accused of sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman at a Newcastle suburb on the night of the 2018 NRL Grand Final.
Court documents say Hayne had sex with the woman without her consent and "recklessly inflicted actual bodily harm".
His trial, expected to run for 10 days, was previously set to begin in early May but was delayed because of government guidelines regarding trials that were introduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
