Novak Djokovic disqualified from US Open after angry reaction to break of serve

Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has sensationally been disqualified from the US Open after lashing out during his match.

The Serbian legend smashed a tennis ball in anger after losing a break in serve and it hit a line judge in the throat.

That resulted in him being disqualified by the umpire and he immediately crashed out of the tournament in a shock decision.

Djokovic was up against Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta and had gone 6-5 down in the opening set.

He fired a ball behind him and upon noticing the ball hitting one of the line judges he immediately apologised and it was clearly not intended to hit them in the throat.

But the rules of the tournament meant he had to be disqualified at the round of 16 and he’ll play no further apart in the tournament.

The decision blows the tournament wide open with Djokovic the last of the recognised big names.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal both missed out while Andy Murray crashed out earlier this week.

The Dunblane superstar had an incredible fightback win in the first round before a straight set defeats in the second.
