Nova Scotia reports four new hospital admissions related to COVID-19, 320 new cases

Nova Scotia is reporting four new hospital admissions due to COVID-19 today and seven patient discharges.

Health officials say 66 people are being treated for the disease in a specialized unit, including 11 people in intensive care.

Two other groups are in hospital with the disease — 128 patients who were admitted for other reasons but tested positive and 168 people who contracted the infection in hospital.

The province is reporting 320 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and estimates there are a total of 2,439 active cases.

The Health Department is reporting a new COVID-19 outbreak at the Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital in Pictou, N.S.

Officials say fewer than five patients have tested positive.
