#NourishEveryDog campaign gives more than 1million meals to dogs in need across Britain

Together with Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs we searched for Britain’s Lockdown Dog Heroes and Hunter, a 17-month-old cockapoo from Liverpool, was crowned the nation’s winner!

And there’s another reason to celebrate.

With the help of the public, Butcher's #NourishEveryDog initiative has succeeded in providing an astonishing one million meals to less fortunate dogs across the country, helping over 118 charities and organisations to feed dogs in need.

When Butcher's launched the initiative in April 2019, they aimed to provide 10,000 meals to dogs in need, donating meals when the #NourishEveryDog hashtag was used on social media. However, dog lovers responded in spectacular fashion, and Butcher’s has now given more than one million meals to charities nationwide, including the Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home and German Shepherd Rescue Elite.

The social media activity alerted charities to the campaign, raising awareness and prompting them to approach Butcher’s to enquire about the support on offer. This in turn gave even more canines in need the chance to enjoy wholesome, British-made bowlfuls that are high in protein and provide all the vitamins and minerals a dog needs, no matter what their shape, size and nutritional needs.

Anna Stansfield, from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home, said: “Butcher’s has been amazing. We receive a lot of food, but securing enough meat for the dogs has always been a concern. Butcher’s has wiped that worry away.”

And Allison Clarke from German Shepherd Rescue Elite added: “Butcher’s is great quality and doesn’t upset German Shepherds’ sensitive tummies. I have never met a dog that doesn’t like it!”

Natasha Bryant, Senior Brand Manager at Butcher's, said she had been overwhelmed at the astonishing success of the #NourishEveryDog campaign.

She said: "I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to deliver over one million meals to dogs in need across the country.

"The charities now more than ever really need our help and I'm so happy we are able to support them."

Now Butcher’s has pledged to continue supporting less fortunate dogs through these unprecedented times. They need your help to keep their mission going, to continue to provide even more delicious and nourishing meals to dogs in need!

Simply use the hashtag #NourishEveryDog on Twitter or Instagram and Butcher’s will donate a meal to a less fortunate dog, helping Britain’s dogs stay happy, healthy and well-nourished.
