A family-run theme park in Nottinghamshire is one of the most popular in Europe according to rankings on TripAdvisor.
The travel website’s Travellers Choice 2019 list is a compiles the top 25 amusement parks in Europe based on ratings by users and the Retford adventure park has come in at number 23, in a list that also includes Disneyland Paris and Germany’s Europa-Park.
In the UK, it ranks as fifth favourite, behind the likes of Alton Towers and Legoland.
Deborah Griffin, park manager at Sundown Adventureland, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been voted fifth in the UK and 23rd in Europe. It is brilliant to see the hard work of all the staff at Sundown being recognised by being on such an important list within the industry.

TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice 2019 list is based on reviews by members the public, taking into account number of reviews, as well as ratings over the last year.
The news comes as the park announces plans for holiday lodges and glamping pods to be installed next year.
Owned by the Rhodes family since 1968, the 30 acre park attracts over 270,000 visitors a year.
Tickets for adults and children over 90cm are £16.75 and children under 90cm go free. Family passes are also available.
