Notts pub gets set to take its food on the road

A Notts pub is getting ready to hit the road with its new food venture on wheels.

The Streatery, a fully equipped food van, will be selling fusion street food with international influences.

It will be both outside The Dapper Spaniel gastro pub at times the restaurant is closed, as well as out and about at events such as festivals, weddings and corporate gatherings.

"We're now on wheels so we can go anywhere. We are super excited," said Kat Galvin, who run the business with her partner Karl Tyler.

At a socially-distanced launch locals had a chance to sample the Streatery's loaded fries, Asian inspired tacos and loaded milkshakes outside the pub in Rolleston.

The van will also be serving food when the pub reopens on Saturday July 4, from 12-3pm and 5-9pm.

Cocktails, bottled beers and cider and draught beer will be sold from an outdoor bar.

"Ideally the event be outside only, but in the case of rain we have large parasols for the beer garden, and our bar area inside will be open - not the restaurant - with social distancing measures in place," added Kat.

Customers are being asked to book a table in advance at bookings@thedapperspaniel.co.uk Children and dogs are welcome.

Modified hours mean the pub will be closed Monday to Wednesday. The bar and the Streatery will be open on Thursday evenings.

The restaurant will be open Friday to Sunday.
